The Plains Intermediate School Arrival Procedures, 2025-2026 School Year
Car Drop-off
Students being dropped off at school must arrive no earlier than 8:55 am in the Visitor Parking Lot, which is located near the gymnasium and accessible via the East Entrance. Please drive next to the sidewalk, moving toward the yellow chain, stop the car, drop your student(s), and follow the directional arrows to loop back and exit the same way you entered. Students will enter through the Main Door.
Late arrivals: If your student is arriving at a time that will not allow them to be in their assigned homeroom seat by 9:15 am, you will need to park in a marked parking place and assist your student into the building to sign them in late via the Main Entrance.
No Parking Zone: Do not park on Channing Way Boulevard or James Lane.
Bus Drop-off
Buses will enter the Staff Parking Lot via the Main Entrance and proceed along the sidewalk toward Channing Way Blvd. 0Students will exit the bus at 8:55 am and enter the building through door #13 before heading directly to homeroom. Anyone buying breakfast should proceed directly to the cafeteria and then homeroom.
The Plains Intermediate School Dismissal Procedures, 2025-2026 School Year
Car Pick-up – Please note the traffic flow is slightly different than during morning arrivals.
The school day ends at 3:45 p.m. Students being picked up will exit the building via the Main Door near the cafeteria at the Visitor Parking Lot, which is located near the gymnasium and accessible via the East Entrance. Please drive next to the sidewalk, moving toward the yellow posts, stop the car, pick up your student(s), and follow the directional arrows to exit one of two ways: Either the same way you entered (through the East Entrance) or through the Main Entrance if a staff member has removed the chain between the yellow posts. Students are not allowed in another car without written permission from the legal guardian and the building principals.
If you are picking up your student(s) earlier than typical dismissal, you must park in a marked parking place, enter the building through the Main Entrance, and sign your student(s) out.

Bus Pick-up
Buses will enter the Staff Parking Lot via the Main Entrance and proceed along the sidewalk toward Channing Way Blvd. Students will exit the building at 3:45 pm via Door #13 and load onto their assigned bus. Students are not allowed on any other bus without written permission from the legal guardian and the building principals.
